The installation option depends on the make, model and headlight design of your vehicle. In each of our product descriptions is stored which option is required, there are basically two options for replacing the LED daytime running light boards.

Option 1: Quick Exchange
This installation method applies to many vehicles from manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz and others. A simple replacement is understood to mean when the heatsink module on the headlight can be "easily" reached and it is not necessary to open the headlight completely. Due to the easily accessible positioning of the heatsink modules on the headlights, the process is usually uncomplicated and usually easy to remove after opening the hood. However, note that in some cases it may be necessary to remove the bumper or tires to access the heatsink module on the headlight. Despite the extra steps, this method generally doesn't require professional help, although some manual dexterity is an advantage.

Option 2: Complete Headlight Opening
This method requires a more skilled hand or a professional, as it involves completely removing the headlight. The most challenging part is separating the lens from the housing to replace the DRL boards. The headlight must then be glued back together and reassembled. While it's possible to handle this installation on your own if you're confident in your skills, we highly recommend seeking professional assistance to ensure a perfect and safe fit.

To get the RGB+W version up and running, you'll need to connect the RGB controller, ground it properly and make sure it's connected to the fuse box.

Many of our customers successfully complete the installation themselves, especially for Option 1. However, Option 2 requires a skilled hand or professional assistance.

Yes, for the RGB+W version, an RGB controller must also be connected. It needs to be grounded and connected to the fuse box.
