Seat Leon (2013-2020) DRL BOARDS - INSTALLATION GUIDE

How To Install RGB DRL Boards On Your Seat Leon

In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of installing RGB DRL boards on your Seat Leon. This modification allows you to change the color of your daytime running lights (DRL) through a mobile app, offering a personalized touch to your car's appearance.

Materials Needed

  • RGB DRL Kit (including DRL boards, Bluetooth module, and wiring)
  • Basic Tools (screwdrivers, wire cutters, etc.)
  • 3M Adhesive Tape (included in the kit)
  • Cleaning Supplies (to prepare the light surface)

Preparation

Ensure the car is parked on a flat surface, the ignition is off and the battery is disconnected, to prevent electrical issues. Open the hood to access the headlight area. Identify the current setup of your headlights and DRL. This installation will change the color of the white DRL section to any color of your choosing via the app.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Removing the Front Bumper

Begin by carefully removing the front bumper to access the headlights. This require removing some screws, clips, or fasteners, depending on your vehicle model.

Step 3: RGB DRL Board Installation

Clean the DRL boards area thoroughly to ensure a strong adhesive bond. Attach the boards to their original postion. These boards come with 3M adhesive on the back for easy application. Make sure the boards are positioned correctly to achieve uniform light distribution. Connect the boards to the Bluetooth module as per the included instructions provided in the kit. This module allows you to control the lights through an app.

Step 4: Wiring and Reassembly

Route the wiring from the DRL boards and Bluetooth module to a power source, typically a 12V source in the fuse box that's active when the ignition is on. Secure the wiring and ensure it does not interfere with any moving parts. Reinstall the headlights and the front bumper, reversing the removal process. Check all electrical connections to ensure they are secure.

Testing and Customization

Download and install the app by scanning the QR code on the packaging. This app will allow you to control the color and pattern of the DRLs. Open the app and connect to the Bluetooth module. You can now select colors, adjust brightness, and choose various lighting effects. Turn on the vehicle's ignition and test the DRLs to ensure they are working as expected. Adjust any settings via the app as needed.
